About UsPoor College Kid Landscaping, LLC. was founded in 2012 with a goal of providing the Cranberry Township area with affordable and top-quality landscaping, without making a dent in your wallet.
Today, PCK Landscaping, LLC. employs a group of hard working, committed high school, college, and post-college employees all bringing the same hard work, commitment to success, and work ethic that Tyler brought in the beginning. We specialize in providing job and internship opportunities to students who are trying to afford the rising costs of a college education. According to the Institute For College Access and Success, in 2015, 68% of seniors are graduating with an average of $30,100 per borrower in student debt. Here at Poor College Kid Landscaping LLC., our goal is to offer students an opportunity to help afford these increasing costs while providing students with real world work experience that earns them college credits! |
Our History |
Starting in 2012, Poor College Kid Landscaping (as it later came to be known) operated out of my mother's garage, a few hand tools we picked up at local garage sales, and one good friend of mine. We put out flyers around local neighborhoods advertising that we would do any odd jobs out there just to earn a dollar. After a successful 2012 season, we had decided we may have stumbled upon a great business idea.
The following season, we had more work coming our way than we knew what to do with. I hired a few other college friends of mine to help accommodate the growing demand for our business. After deciding this could become a full-time job for me after college, I invested in a two trucks of my own and purchased all of the necessary equipment to run a small landscaping company. Just like that, Poor College Kid Landscaping, LLC. was born. Today, Poor College Kid Landscaping, LLC. employs high school, college, and post-college individuals to continue bringing affordable and reliable landscaping and lawn maintenance with exceptional customer service. We aim to maintain 65% of our labor force as current, or soon-to-be college students who have the opportunity to learn real world job experience by operating a small company and also earning college credits while doing it! |
